Letter of introduction

for veterinarian professionals

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing in response to your client’s request for a referral to my canine fitness and conditioning and/or bodywork services. The purpose of this letter is to outline my qualifications, the scope of my services, and the role I play in supporting canine health and well-being. I hope this information assists in determining whether my expertise aligns with your client’s needs.

Qualifications

I have been a Certified Professional Canine Fitness Trainer (CPCFT) since 2018, completing an intensive program through Fenzi Dog Sports Academy under Dr. Deborah Torraca, DPT, MSPT, Dipl. ABPTS, CCRP. This certification required completion of a series of courses, multiple case studies, and a comprehensive final examination.

In addition, I have pursued advanced training in canine bodywork, including:

  • Small Animal Acupressure Practitioner Certification – Tallgrass Animal Acupressure (2021)

  • Canine Therapeutic, Advanced, and Senior Massage Therapy Certifications – Rocky Mountain School of Animal Acupressure and Massage (2022)

  • Trigger Point Massage Therapy – Ken Bain, LMT, MTI (2023)

  • Canine Myofascial Kinetic Lines Therapy – Dr. Vibeke Sødring Elbrønd, DVM, PhD & Dr. Rikke Mark Schultz, DVM (2024)

I continue to expand my expertise through ongoing education and hands-on experience, working with a variety of dogs, including companion pets, rescue dogs, senior dogs, tripawds, and performance/working dogs.

Services Offered

Canine Fitness & Conditioning

My fitness and conditioning programs are customized based on each dog’s specific needs and the owner’s capabilities. These sessions focus on:

  • Strength, balance, proprioception, and flexibility

  • Proper form and safety for both dog and handler

  • Adaptive progression based on the dog’s response

I work with dogs recovering from injuries or illnesses only with written veterinary clearance. While my services do not replace formal rehabilitation programs, I can assist in implementing prescribed exercises under veterinary guidance.

Small Animal Bodywork

Each bodywork session begins with an overall assessment of the animal’s current condition, bodywork techniques used depend on the animal’s medical history, current condition, and real-time feedback. Sessions are also adjusted according to the referring veterinarian’s assessment and guidance. Clients receive a written session report with at-home recommendations, when applicable.

Insurance & Professional Scope

I am fully insured through Kennel Pro for canine conditioning, small animal acupressure, and massage. My services do not replace veterinary care, and I do not diagnose or treat medical conditions. My services are only meant to complement existing veterinary care. If concerns arise during a session, clients will be referred to their veterinary care team and/or advised to seek appropriate veterinary care.
